You’ve started before.
And it worked, for a while. Then life got busy, and somewhere between a hectic week and a tired Tuesday you were back at the beginning, wondering why you can’t stick to something this simple.
That was never a willpower problem. Most approaches are built for motivation, and motivation is the first thing a busy week takes. They hold beautifully right up until they’re needed.
So we built a system that expects life to get in the way. Fewer decisions. A clear next step. No streaks to lose, and a restart that’s part of the design rather than an apology.
Calm Progress was built for the Tuesday.
Seven days to start. The system does the rest.
Days 1 to 7, free
Pick one to three habits that fit your life as it is. Check in once a day. Two minutes, no streaks, no guilt. By day seven you’ll know exactly which habit is yours.
Day 8, the system opens
Thirty-day cycles with rest weeks built in. One short daily read that shifts how you see what you’re already doing. A plan that adapts to your week, not the other way around.
Then, less mental load
The list in your head finally stops running. Dinner decided before you’ve thought about it. A plan that knows your loud days and bends around them. Two weeks in, it’s noticed which habits stick before you have. Your mental load lifts, and eco just happens.
More than a tracker. A short daily practice.
Each morning opens with a reframe, one idea to sit with, not a list to clear. The habits are there, but they're the smallest part. Guides, quiet insight and recovery are built in, so the system holds the thread even on the weeks you can't.

The full system, quietly complete.
Daily reframes
A 30-second read each day that questions one assumption you’ve never had reason to question. It changes what you do without telling you what to do.
Personal patterns
After two weeks, the system notices what you don’t. Which days work, which habits stick, what quietly drops off.
Planner, guide, toolkit
The Sustainable Lifestyle Planner, the habits guide and the full toolkit come built in, with editable templates.
The impact board
Money saved and CO₂ avoided since you started, gathered on one board, with a quiet counter of what everyone here has avoided together.
Recovery, built in
Miss a day, a week, a month. No streak lost, no guilt reset. It meets you where you are and rebuilds from there.
The Calm Kitchen System
Five calm routines for meals, shopping, and food waste, printable and built in. Fewer kitchen decisions, less in the bin.
Seasonal insights
January and July ask different things of you. The system knows that, and the pacing adjusts to the season you’re actually in.
Your Sunday letter
A short letter every Sunday, written from your actual week. What held, what slipped, what to make easier.
Quietly, it adds up.
Small shifts, measured.
saved a year by one reusable cup, used daily
kept a year by one low-waste meal a week
of CO₂ avoided a year by one meat-free day a week
a day. That’s the entire ask.
Estimates drawn from UK averages. Your own numbers build inside the system as you go.
Sunday, with the kettle on.
The Sunday letter
Sunday. A gentler thought this week, because most of us are harder on ourselves than the situation ever asked for.
There is a quiet trap in caring about something. You decide that if you cannot do it properly, it is not worth doing at all.
So the half-version feels like cheating, the small effort feels like failure, and you find yourself waiting for the mythical week when you will finally have the time and the energy to do it right. That week, you may have noticed, has a way of never quite arriving.
But here is what is true, and what the perfectionist in us refuses to hear: the enough you keep beats the perfect you abandon.
The meat-free dinner that happened twice this week instead of the five times you had pictured still happened twice, and twice is not nothing.

What is Calm Progress?
Calm Progress is a calm approach to sustainable living. It uses gentle systems and small, repeatable habits that hold up on busy weeks, without overwhelm or burnout. Sustainability becomes a side effect of a lower mental load, kept at a human pace rather than a constant push.
Who is it for?
It’s for people who want to live a bit more sustainably but keep falling off when life gets busy. If you’ve started before, lost momentum, and felt back at square one, it was built for that. No guilt, no perfection, no second job.
How is it different from other sustainability apps?
Most approaches are built for your best week and quietly collapse on a hard one. Calm Progress is built for the hard week. It removes decisions instead of adding them, has a built-in restart so you never lose progress, and asks about two minutes a day.
Is it an app I have to download?
It runs in your browser and installs to your home screen in two taps. Nothing to download from an app store, nothing to update.
What happens when I miss days?
Nothing bad. There’s no streak to lose and no reset. The system is built around gaps, and coming back is the skill it quietly trains.
How long does a check-in take?
About two minutes. On the loud days, thirty seconds still counts.
What does £47 actually buy?
Everything, once. The 30-day system with every future cycle, the daily reads, the Sunday letters, the planner, guide and toolkit. No subscription, no upsells inside.
What happens after the 7 days?
Nothing automatic. There’s no card on file to charge. Day 8 asks whether you’d like to keep going, and £47, once, only ever happens because you choose it.
What happens to my data?
Your check-ins stay on your device. We hold an email address only if you sign in or turn on reminders, and we never sell anything to anyone.
How this started, honestly.
Calm Progress started with a few messy notes, a wish for less climate anxiety, and a lot of tea.
It began because living sustainably seemed designed for the devoted, the perfect, or the endlessly organised. The merely busy and well-intentioned were left to improvise.
Our first tools weren’t flawless. Neither were our routines. Building around the gaps, instead of pretending there wouldn’t be any, slowly became the method. The version that survived leaned into enough: small habits with room to wobble, kept gently, kept going.
Everything since has been built around possibility rather than pressure. The bar sits where a real week can clear it.
Still imperfect. Still going. That’s the whole method.
